Lily-Pad and Rose

The girls have every-day chores that they do called "family work" that we have decided not to give "allowance" for. These are just daily chores that they are expected to do and we hope will help them learn responsibility and the importance of all working together in our family. But, then they have opportunities to earn allowance by doing extra little jobs around the house that they do not have to do. Yesterday, they both wanted to help me clean the sofa cushions and some other deep cleaning jobs that I was so tickled to have them beside me doing, making a boring job fun. So, they earned their "allowance" and they knew exactly what needed to be done with it! Meet our new family members, "Lily-Pad and Rose". Lily-Pad is the purple and blue fish that Kate bought and Rose is Anna's pink and yellow fish. They were so proud, carrying their little pocket books with their own money and paying for their fish all by themselves.

Picnic

We went to a church picnic tonight at Worlds Fair Park. It was such a fun night visiting with friends, playing in the fountains and in the huge grassy field, and eating yummy watermelon. Caleb had his first taste of watermelon tonight, and yep you guessed right. He LOVED it! That boy really enjoys his food, kind of like his momma I suppose :)
The high-light of the night was looking over and seeing two of our favorite Biggest Loser contestants. Of course we had to go meet them! Kate recognized them because Jeremy and I were always watched this show every Tuesday and she would try and sneak in our room at bedtime and watch a little of it with us. We didn't mind sometimes, because it was a great opportunity to let her see people who were working really hard to have a healthy body and share with her how important that is. Those ladies were really an inspiration and it was so neat to meet them in person! Here's some more fun pictures from the night.
