Anna has had a deep love for her paci since she has been born. It has basically been glued to her mouth every second of every day for most of her life. In fact, it amazes us that she talks so well. She somehow managed to learn how to talk through her paci (a bit muffled at times but, she communicated pretty well over all) If it was up to her she would have used her paci as a spoon. We saw her on numerous occasions setting aside her silverware to use her spoon to dip in her salsa, syrup, etc....! We knew it was way past time to say bye bye to paci. We just kept putting it off knowing it would be heart-breaking for little Anna. But honestly, we were just getting tired of looking at it and keeping up with the thing! So, a couple of weeks ago we told her when she woke up that morning that her paci had to stay in her crib and it was only for "night-night" time. She held her breath for a moment and then big crocodile tears started rolling down her cheeks as she started sobbing in between holding her breath. It was very tempting to say "just kidding, here you go". But we stuck with it and she has been doing great. Better than we ever expected. However a few days ago, she was playing with her baby in the highchair and I had to grab the camera. The poor girl was trying with all of her might to pull her baby doll's paci up to her mouth to suck on. It was pitiful.
